REGULAR MASSAGE THERAPY:

1, SOOTHES ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Human touch, in a way that is safe, professional and friendly can be incredibly therapeutic, soothing, nurturing and relaxing. Studies found that patients who were depressed and anxious became much more relaxed and happy after massage. Massage therapy may be incorporated as a part of your treatment to help you manage these emotional disorders (such as depression or anxiety) as well as it can improve your state of mind. It helps to include visualization exercise throughout massage where you would picture yourself in pleasant surroundings of your choice.

2, REDUCES STRESS LEVELS
Massages are known to alleviate stress all around – in your muscles and mind. Quite often stress tends to manifest in the shoulders and neck. Did you know that neck massage boosts blood flow? Why not try to make an appointment before a game, interview or even a date to see it’s benefits for yourself? According to one study, even a simple hand massage can lower your blood pressure and heart rate. And it also significantly lowers levels of the stress hormone CORTISOL. An overwhelming amount of evidence suggests that massage can actually slash most psychological markers of stress.

3, IMPROVES AND REALLY HELPS WITH SLEEP
Regular full body massage helps with circulation which means you will likely sleep better. It helps those who are not able otherwise comfortably rest, as well as encourages a restfull sleep. You are aware how important sleep is, aren’t you?
No more counting sheep (As if anyone ever does that). One small study found that a 20-minute facial massage can reduce blood pressure and increase sleepiness pretty much immediately. Researchers also tested foot massage. The treatments reduced blood pressure, just not as much as facial massage – a fact you can easily omit the next time you ask your partner for a late night foot rub.

4, COUNTERACTS ALL THE SITTING ONE MAY BE DOING
Many of us have dealt with some kind of postural stress. More advanced forms of which tends to show up as pain or weakness in the lower back and gluteals. This is usually caused by prolonged periods of sitting, especially associated with desk based jobs. Luckily massage can counteract the imbalance caused from sitting – as long as you schedule a regular massage appointments. It can also help to straighten you out.

5, EASES MUSCLE PAIN
Massage increases and improves circulation. And circulation has to do with pretty much everything else going on with your body. A published study found that regular massage therapy is as effective as other methods of treatment for chronic back pain and arthritis. If you are an athlete, doing lots of sports or just have any kind of muscle pain, you probably heard how beneficial a regular massage can be. It may even allow you to decrease the painkiller intake. In one study, neuroscientists compared brain activity of people undergoing different forms of treatment and discovered bare handed massage activated the same part of the brain that is activated by opioid painkillers such as codeine.

6, BOOSTS IMMUNITY
It was also found that massage boosts patient’s white blood cell count which plays a big role in defending the body from disease. Additionally it improves immune functions. Massage doesn’t just get the blood flowing – it actually changes your blood’s composition for the better. After just 45 minute Sweedish massage (a technique that involves long strokes, deep kneading and circular movements to push blood toward the heart – recipients had significantly higher levels of blood proteins that play major role in protecting the body from tumors, viral infections and other pathogens.

7, CAN READJUST YOUR POSTURE
There are many types of massages. They are not here to replace medical treatment, they are here to enhance your state of mind and help your body in many way

8, BOOSTS YOUR MOOD
Did you know that studies found, on average, massage therapy increases your levels of SEROTONIN (a neutrotransmitter linked to happiness) by 28 percent and DOPAMINE (a neutrotransmitter involved in motivation, arousal and reward) by 31 percent. Combined, this boost should pretty much make your day. Regardless of how miserable Monday weather there is outside. Studies have shown that massage will leave you feeling totally happy. Trust the science and book at least 30 minute appointment.

9, RELIEVES HEADACHES
Number of factors can trigger a headache but the main cause comes from tension in the neck that restricts blood flow to the brain. If you get chronic headaches or migraines, first, make sure you tell your doctor because it may be associated with something else. Once you have seen the doctor and already know the reason why you get these headaches and just looking for a more natural way to manage them, then massages are your new best friend. So next time you get a headache, definitely try booking a last minute massage. It has been proven that massage decreases frequency and severity of tension headaches. The research shows that you need to get a lot of them to make it work. Also, studies also found that people who get two 30 minute massages a week had less chronic headaches.

10,REDUCES THE EFFECT OF CHEMOTHERAPY AND OTHER TREATMENTS
Research shows that if you have gone or undergoing chemo for cancer or any other intense treatment for al illness you should introduce a massage into your life. I alson can reduce the instances of nausea in patients.

11, FIBROMYALGIA RELIEF
Massage therapy relieves Fibromyalgia related pains. Works much faster. Faster result is achieved by receiving massage therapy than Transcutaneous electrical stimulation.

12, IMPROVES FLEXIBILITY
Did you know that a 30 minute massage per week can improve your trunk flexibility and relieve the pain associated with lower back stiffness. According to a study by neuroscientists, it will help you to enjoy the intimate positions too. You may want to suggest to you’re your partner that massage is “a gift that gives back ” .

13, ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)
Miami based Touch Research Institute’s executive director Tiffany Field discovered that massage therapy can improve ADHD symptoms in teenagers. Adults, who received a regular massage for 10 consecutive days has also positive changes, felt happier and experienced better behaviour after only 10-15 minute massage. Other studies have shown bi weekly regular massage therapy benefits of young ADHD sufferers.

14, IT WARMS UP YOUR MUSCLES BEFORE EXERCISE
Before you stretch, massage can help to loosen the muscles without putting any strain on other soft tissues. Quince says – Try foam-rolling your quads before your next workout. Lie face down and place the roller just above the knee cap. Let your body sink down and roll up two inches, then down one inch. Continue slowly until you reach your hip. Then turn over and repeat on your back, moving from the waist to the shoulders.

15, IT HELPS YOU GET TO KNOW YOUR BODY – AND ITS LIMITS
Self-massage, in particular, can help you discover sore and tight areas in places you wouldn’t necessarily notice during regular movement. Quince says – When you are self-aware, you can stretch more or work out different areas to allow any sore spots to heat. This can help your sidestep injuries that can ultimately mess with your mobility and overall wellness.

16, IT MAKES EXERCISE FEEL EASIER
Yes, you read it right. If you go into a workout with soreness, your tight muscles create resistance that makes your limbs feel heavier. “It’s like a net holding you down” Walsh says. Massage can release the tension, so grab a foam-roller and get to it until the skin covering the sore area looks rosy pink – a sign that blood is flowing there.

17, IT CAN ALLEVIATE MORNING STIFFNESS
Most people tend to sleep in a way that strains the muscles in the neck. (If you sometimes wake up with a stiff neck, you are probably sleeping wrong). After the damage is done, and a.m. neck rub can help get the blood flowing, loosen up those muscles, and ultimately make mornings less painful.

18, IT ALLEVIATES STRAIN FROM TEXTING AND TYPING
If you spend most of your days on a keyboard or texting up a storm, your forearms (home to the muscles that control your hands) could probably benefit from some TLC – especially if the muscles feel tight and ropey, which is a sign that blood flow isn’t ideal. For a fast fix, grab one forearm with your thumb underneath the arm. Dig your finger pads into tight muscles in your forearm (like a claw), and rake your fingers back and forth to separate and spread the muscle fibers. This technique also feels amazing on your hamstrings. Sit on the edge of a chair and place your palms on the outsides of your thighs with your fingers underneath your legs. Apply pressure with your fingertips, and drag them back and forth across your hamstrings.

19, IT IMPROVES YOUR CIRCULATION TO HELP YOU RELAX
Your body constantly pumps blood to and from the heart to carry oxygen to your tissues and sweep away cellular waste products. It’s tough work. According to Walsh, Sweedish massage is designed to push blood from your limbs towards your heart to make things a little easier. This gives your muscles a change to relax . So you feel refreshed when your massage is over – kind of like you just took a nap. (But obviously better ).

20, REDUCTION IN MUSCLE SORENESS
Adults, who received massage after a series of heavy exercise reported less of the muscle soreness and pain that can interfere with things like effectively walking out of gym and driving home without a complaint
